Affiliate disclosure
Tattoo Onsen Japan is run by Tattoo Onsen Japan editors. When you book through a “Check prices” button, we may earn a commission. We do not add a fee to your booking.
How booking links work
Every booking button points at our own short link (/go/…), which sends you on to Agoda, Trip.com and Booking.com. Some of those links go through Travelpayouts, an affiliate network that works with these booking sites. If you book after clicking one, the booking site may pay us a commission.
We do not add a fee to your booking. Any commission is paid by the booking site or the network. Prices and offers can vary by booking site, account, device, currency and time. Not every link earns a commission at all times, and we never learn who you are.
What a commission never changes
- A commission never changes a status. An inn's status comes only from what the inn itself publishes (or tells us), with the source and the date shown on its page.
- An inn cannot pay to be listed as tattoo-friendly, or to be listed at all.
- The booking button is only shown strongly when the inn gives a verified way in for tattooed guests. Otherwise it is a quiet secondary link, and the main action is the evidence, a Japanese message to ask the inn, or other stays in the same town.
- The booking sites always appear in the same order (Agoda → Trip.com → Booking.com) for every inn.
See how we verify for how a status is decided, and our privacy notice for what a click records.
