The short answer

Only if covered. Ooedo Onsen Monogatari's bath rules, written for every lodging in the group, turn away guests with tattoos from the large bath — except when two of the inn's designated stickers cover the tattoo completely.

Every lodging of the group (standard, Premium, TAOYA and Wanwan Resort brands)
No large-bath use with a tattoo, unless two of the inn's designated stickers cover it completely.

What it covers — and what it doesn't

Covers

  • The large shared baths (大浴場) of every lodging in the group — the terms say so in their first line.
  • Staying guests and day-trip plans alike: the terms cover everyone allowed into the baths.

Does not settle

  • The sticker size: the group does not publish it. Two stickers is the limit; whether yours fits is decided at the inn.
  • Private or in-room baths: the terms are for the large baths and do not mention them.

If you're refused

Staff on the day have the last word, even under a group rule. Before you book, ask the hotel directly and keep the reply. If you are turned away on the day, ask whether a private or in-room bath is available instead.

We read Ooedo Onsen Monogatari's own pages on 22 Oct 2026 and quote them exactly; nothing here comes from booking sites or reviews. Group rules change, and a property can apply its own: check the stay's page and ask before you book.

Never read a group rule as “every hotel is tattoo-friendly”: it says only what is quoted above. How we verify · About
